Hey, I’m Jackie
My initial goal for building this website was to help people like you, who like myself have or are suffering from anxious feelings and stress related symptoms. If you really think about it stress is a part of life for all of us. We may not all feel it the same and respond the same but it is there. So this site is for everyone that wants to learn more about stress and how to manage it.
Through much of my teenage years and early twenties I suffered from anxious feelings which prevented me from enjoying this time in my life.
At the time I had no idea what these feelings were, never mind that I was actually having them or why. To avoid the feelings I was having I kept to myself, always hid in the back and avoided crowded areas. I basically was not involved with life in general. This was a hard habit to break. Avoiding the outside world was not the answer. This is a challenge that I still face today.
Throughout my journey I have tried so many things but it really takes a combination of techniques to control stress levels. My interests over the years have changed as I realized that. My taste in music, forms of exercise, and the types of yoga have changed, and continue to change.
Stress can affect people in a variety of ways but generally not in a positive way. I know how I felt, I have seen other stressed people and I see how it is affects their health and enjoyment of life. It saddens me to think that so many people are suffering all because they have little understanding of what stress actually is and how easily it can be controlled with some simple life changes and some positive stress relief techniques and coping strategies.
Why I created this site
With everything that I have learned through my own journey, I made the decision to share my experiences here. From those with severe anxious feelings and feelings of panic to those with mild work and home related stressors.. there is something for everyone.
I hope you will find the information on this site helpful. You will learn what stress is, how to manage it, be able to vent.. and so much more.
